The flight In July 2009, the Eurocopter Group invited the Féderation Aéronautique Luxembourgeoise to visit their facilities in Margnane near Marseille. Eurocopter, a division of EADS (European Aeronautics, Defense and Space Company) is one of the leading helicopter manufactures, founded in 1992 from the merger of the German Daimler-Benz Aerospace AG and the helicopter divisions of French Aérospatiale. The flyout was scheduled for the 10th July 2009, but since we had to make sure to be on the General Aviation Parking in Aix-en-Provence at precisely 12 o’clock, most crews decided to leave already one day earlier.

Introduction Last year we and our German friends from the Förderverein für Allgemeine Luftfahrt Zweibrücken/Homburg flew to Toulouse and visited EADS and Airbus. This time the journey went to Rostock/Laage, to visit the Jagdgeschwader 73 "Steinhoff", where, since february 2004, pilots are introduced to the EF 2000 Eurofighter.

The Idea One day, my friend Laurent came up with the idea to participate at the fly-out to Toulouse and the visit of EADS (European Aeronatics, Defense and Space Company) and Airbus. I had already read about it, but I knew I could not go, because June would be a quite stressful month at school, with a lot of papers coming one after the other. Therefore it was nearly impossible for me to join them, even though I knew it was a unique opportunity to see the construction of the Airbus A380!
