My name is Claude Barthels, 24 years of age. I was born and grew up in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. Currently I live in Zurich, where I study computer science at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH Zurich).
My computer science interests mainly lie in the area of distributed algorithms, distributed systems and web technologies. I am enrolled in the master's program with specialization in distributed systems after receiving my bachelor's degree in computer science from ETH in 2011.
Apart from computer science, I am interested in aviation since early childhood. Aircrafts have always fascinated me and in 2004, at the age of 16, I took my first flying lessons and started my training for the private pilot license, which I received one year later in June 2005. In 2010, I added a night qualification to my license, which allows me to perform visual flights at night. I often participate in aeronautical competitions, especially rallye flying, for which I already won several prizes.
